KCG working bee news
On 23 May 2026, the Kensington Community Garden hosted a vibrant working bee, bringing together more than 30 plot holders and members.
As part of the day, organic gardening expert Kat Lavers led a workshop on hot composting, demonstrating how to speed up the decomposition of a large pile of weeds and grasses removed during the hard work of the April working bee. She explained how to harness the natural heat generated by microorganisms as organic matter breaks down, helping the community better understand efficient composting techniques.
Kat also assisted us in planning our shared garden beds, including decisions about what to plant and where to position new fruit trees.
